On the afternoon of April 14, the CFLC Deans Forum, one of the events celebrating CFLC’s 95th anniversary, opened in Dezhen Building.
The forum brought together the deans of foreign language and literature schools of 12 universities, including Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Sun Yat-sen University, Nankai University, Jilin University, Wuhan University, Shandong University, Hunan University, Southwest University, Hunan Normal University, and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Trade.
The topics discussed at the forum included the past, present and future of foreign language and literature studies; innovation of foreign language and literature programs; the fourth round of national evaluation of foreign language and literature programs; and training of foreign language students in the context of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
CFLC Dean Prof. Zhang Longhai delivered an opening speech. On behalf of the College, he extended a warm welcome to all the guests who had come from afar. He pointed out that thanks to the support of peer colleges, CFLC had been able to make continuous progress.
Keynote speakers at the forum included Zeng Yanyu from Hunan Normal University, Yan Guodong from Nankai University, Shen Fuying from Shandong University, Fang Fan from Zhejiang University, Chang Hui from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Liu Guangzheng from Hunan University, Xin Jie from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Trade, Zhang Meimei from Jilin University, Ma Xiao from Wuhan University, Liu Chengyu from Southwest University.
